I want to make it easier for individuals to understand individual goals and objectives they should reach to live their best life. How would I go about this? I want to create technology infrastructure that minimizes micro-aggressions and traumatic events.

What traumatic events? Spammers, scammers, and other crimes on the internet. But also the systematic trauma that is enabled by centralized social and technical systems that can be used to exploit marginalized groups of people. What is the infrastructure that enables these situations?

Short answer: the internet. The internet’s current design and use cases don’t have adequate security and anti-malware capabilities integrated into lower level designs. Thus higher level user facing patches are often prone to exploitation for another attack, which causes the attacker-defender chase in security. Additionally, social engagement on the internet is operated by corporate owned for-profit individual networks that compete with each other. Although these design choices do have their advantages, marginalized people often don’t have a say in the groups that run significant portions of the internet.

I want to impact this world to change the components of the internet to develop accessible, security-first systems to address these issues. I find inspiration for possible solutions for these challenges in the application of interoperable blockchains developed for and by marginalized groups and intend to pursue this area as a Kleiner Perkins Fellow.
